Alix holds her Bachelor of Science in Family Studies. She was born and raised in the seacoast area and has been working with the local homeless community for several years. She has worked as homeless outreach as well as a care coordinator working specifically with homeless and at-risk military members and veterans. The last few years have been spent as a care coordinator assisting the most vulnerable members of the local population who have fallen through the cracks of the social services system. Now, Alix works on the same team doing the same important work as a Community Care Coordinator, just under a new organization– SOS! Alix lives in Durham with her incredibly patient and supportive husband, Todd, youngest son, Emerson, dog, cat, and bearded dragon. Alix would love to one day wake up to a world where pain and suffering has disappeared, and people have learned to be more accepting of others.
