Jennie first began her journey with SOS as a member and quickly began volunteering on the fundraising committee. She dedicated countless hours of her time to help our community. When she was offered a scholarship to pursue her certification as a peer-support worker she was extremely grateful and humbled since she had a criminal history due to her drug use, she never imagined she would be anything more than the labels society placed upon her. Due to the endless trainings in the recovery field, her life experience in active use and in recovery she is an asset to our organization, especially to the families we serve. She facilitates Parenting Journey in Recovery and oversees the family supports we have to offer. Her parents are in recovery and she is a trauma survivor. Jennie is a mother in recovery with two sons, one of which she was reunified with and the second, she had during her recovery process. Jennie is very passionate about helping others find themselves and their happiness. Jennie is now a person in long term recovery because she walked through the doors of SOS. Her mission is to make just one more person a day feel heard, be seen, and feel loved.
